Getting Started

Data Source: The entity that houses your data. Data sources can either be a

  • Database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Business app (Zendesk, Google Sheets, Salesforce)
  • Service (your company’s HTTP server or GraphQL)

Function: An action to be performed on your data. Database functions include list, insert, update, and delete (of a data record). Users can create new functions as well, by utilizing existing API endpoints or by manually defining parameters and function attributes.

Super Record: A 360 view of a data record that can be enhanced with data from multiple data sources. Super Records can be accessed by clicking on a record from a table view or card list view.

Role: Roles are a set of permissions which can be defined by you. Users can be assigned to a role (like Customer Support or Admin), which will give them the associated permissions with that role.

Space: A dedicated area in which custom tools can be built. Tools in Spaces utilize components, data sources, and functions together.

Component: Components are visual (front-end) pieces that are placed within a Space. Components are connected to data sources, and can be bound to functions and other components to accomplish the various actions you need your tools to perform.

Dynamic Parameter: When defining new functions, dynamic parameters allow you to pass values that are variable and not fixed. These are created using Javascript expressions (template literal).
