There are only a few weeks left before 2021 comes to a close. We’d like to wish all of our customers a safe and happy holiday season! To end the year with a bang, we just shipped several highly requested features including JavaScript support in the app builder. Check out the details below.
JS Support in the App Builder
We’ve heard you! One of the most popular feature requests we’ve had is JS support in the app builder. We’re excited to share that several components now support JavaScript template literals including Forms, Images, Dropdowns, Links, Card List, and more. Read the docs.
Function Component
With the new Function component, you can add data to your Space and configure it without introducing a visual element. Once configured, other components in your Space can bind to the Function component’s data. Read the docs.
Here are some cool things that you can do with the Function component:
- Make a single request to display data in multiple components. If several components need data from the same API endpoint or SQL query, just add a Function component to your Space and configure the components to get their data via bindings.
- Auto-populate form fields with data returned from a Function component.
- Filter a table using data returned from a Function component. For example, if you want to filter the Owners table based on the selected Cats but there’s a Cat_Owner table joining the two tables, you can use the Function component to return the Cat_Owner data.
Transformers for Custom SQL Functions
You can now add a transformer to custom SQL functions. Use data to return an array or data[0] to return the first object in the array. You can also use JavaScript to pretty much do anything else required to meet your use case. Read the docs.
Azure AD SSO
Last but not least, we’ve now added Azure AD SSO to our list of supported SSO providers. Other supported SSO providers include Okta, Google, and generic SAML 2.0. Read the docs.
